Ready or not, here He comes.
Today's message in the series was about "the One who is to come".

Did you know "Joy to the World" wasn't about His first advent?

Great spirit and worship today. Tell us about your worship and/or ministry experience at NHC this Sunday before Christmas.

We started a new series today to help us have a firm knowledge on the Jesus of Scripture.

Nathan's song, "The Real Jesus" echoed the desire of our culture to know the truth about Him.

Did you get to take a tour of the Youth Room upstairs?

See you at one of the concerts this week...Wednesday and/or Friday nights @ 7PM.

Childish or childlike?
Growing and maturing?

We were taught a great new song by the MP 13 Band.

And we heard a story of childlike generosity, not childishness.

Share your take on today's Gatherings.

Sunday Feedback October 30...And what about Mormonism?

After both gathering I was asked, "So was the Texas pastor right or wrong when he said that Mormons weren't Christians?". I thought I answered that, but apparently not as clearly as was needed.

Here's what I said.

"That’s also why there are some groups with whom we just can’t fellowship. Their understanding of Jesus and the salvation He brought is different in major ways. Maybe it’s the addition of good works as a requirement for salvation... Maybe it’s the addition of another book that’s put on equal basis with the Bible or the denial of the Trinity. Those are all religious traditions that have been added to Christ by men."

That pretty much describes Mormonism. I encourage you to scroll down a couple of posts on this blog and read more about Mormonism and Christianity.

And if you want to get a head start on Sunday, read the book of Galatians this week.

Backpack Sunday!

Larry Czernik, USN (Ret) led us in prayer, presenting Alex Beacham with a Sailor's Bible. Alex arrives at basic training tomorrow.

God is not our good luck charm. Faith in Christ doesn't mean everything turns out OK. It means that whatever comes my way in life I'll be OK.

We'll be receiving school supplies throughout the week at the church office.

He is not here; He is risen!

Thanks to all the volunteers who served and served overtime today! Your heart of serving was part of sharing the Gospel in three gatherings. About six men and women received Christ today, which is what it's all about.

If you saw someone going the extra mile at church and it blessed you, let the rest of us know about it.
