Update from Adam and Melissa Hoffman

Round 3 here we go.

This is typically a weekly prayer email but we added our Adoption update list to it so we could update more people at once. To catch yall up, We got a call about a potential Birth Mom on Tuesday and drove up to N. Cal to meet with her. This is an update about that time.

Yesterday we met with Xaviera (sounds like Xzavria ) for lunch and had a great time. After our meal we hung out at walmart and did a little shopping and then went to her doctor appointment with her. She is very nice and the whole visit went really well. On the ride back we decided that we would move forward with her, and she agreed to work with us as well. The baby is due April 15th (she does have a history of early babies) and its a boy. At the doctor Melissa got to hear the Baby's heartbeat and we got a great report from the doctor that everything is progressing normally.

Thank you so much to those who have been praying for us. Yesterday was an extremely emotional day. There was a lot of fear as we put ourselves back into this position. Slowly excitement is starting to build. Xaviera has had a really rough life and it was hard to hear of all her hardships. We are praying that this adoption will be redeeming for her as well as we try to show the Love of Christ. Xaviera has two other children in foster care, and knows that Department of Child and Family Services will not let her take this child home from the hospital. As sad as this is for her, there is safety in it for us.

Prayer!!!
  • Pray for Xaviera to have peace about her decision, to stay healthy, to come to know JESUS.
  • Pray for the relationship that we are forming with Xaviera we really want to be a part of her life as well and help her with some of the struggles she is having.
  • Pray for the Baby to remain healthy and continue to grow strong
  • Pray for all the logistics and job responsibilities that become urgent when you find out you are becoming parents in 4-6 weeks.
  • Pray for our sanity and emotions. This still feels very surreal and we are still battling with left over feelings from the other two times. We want to be in this fully and be able to be excited. Right now we just very overwhelmed.
Thank you again for your prayers and your support for us throughout this whole experience. Your words of encouragement and helping hands are how we can do anything right now. You have been Christ to us, and we are so thankful.
