The first Sunday of December was all about this whole month being a celebration and opportunity to pass on to our world the joyous news of the birth of the King of Kings.
This morning our Worship Choir joined the band for a couple of the Christmas songs we'll hear Friday night at Unspeakable Joy. Chris Tomlin's "My Soul Magnifies the Lord" blew the roof off the building!
We heard about how our Christmas traditions can be used to pass Christ on to future generations and to point others to Christ. Hundreds of names were brought to an "altar" of gift-wrapped boxes as we asked the Lord to give us opportunities to share the Gospel this Christmas with our friends and families.

One of my favorite Sundays of 2009! Awesome to see the number of tags on the gift boxes at the end of the second gathering! I'm already seeing opportunities to point people to God this Christmas in my own life!

I am committed to spending Thanksgiving and Christmas in South Carolina with my elderly parents as long as they are on this earth. This year, however, I've been blessed with a rare opportunity to hitch a ride with fellow Connection Group sister, Pam, to Colorado to spend some quality time with my children and grandchildren during the Christmas season. And my driver will be bringing me back in time for Christmas with Mom!! Needless to say, I've been beside myself thinking about all the cookies and decorations we'll make and the presents we can open together. Yesterday's message clearly told me that my trip was no accident...God is sending me to Colorado to infuse Jesus into their Christmas, using cookie-baking as a tool. Please be praying that I will recognize the opportunities and have the courage to speak for His glory. Merry Christmas, All!
