Hoffmans' Update

Prayer Warriors,

Thank you for being faithful to pray even though I haven't gotten an update out (in almost a month!) My apology. When you pray hard I have more work to do because God is moving! Praise God for the ways He has been working and keep praying for the current students (in Pasadena and other locations), new locations starting, and Melissa and I.

Trinity International University is officially a new partner college with INSIGHT
You have been praying for the situation with TIU. Trinity International University has agreed to offer credit for the INSIGHT program. We are working through the logistics but the transcript and price has been decided. TIU will offer 36 units of credit at $50/credit hour. That is an amazing rate we are thankful to be working with. Trinity is fully accredited and 1/5 of the price of our other accredited partner school (NWC). Trinity will bring access to the INSIGHT program all over the country. This is a major step forward with the INSIGHT National Office (where Melissa is the Director).

INSIGHT Program Director Handbook Finished
Melissa and I have been working on a training guide to run INSIGHT for new locations for the past several months (we worked on it heavily while in NC for the summer driving all over the place.) This project is now finished and we have a professional way to describe how to run INSIGHT in other locations. We will use this as the basic training manual for new locations. This month (one person this Friday-Saturday, more the Friday-Saturday March 27-28) we will host new program directors in the process of starting their locations. Pray for our time with these future directors. That they would catch the vision and be empowered to carry it forward.

Staffing Addition
Melissa received a new addition to her staff today. Up until now Melissa has been the only person in her office. Starting today she has an addition of 10 hours a week to help her in the office. This is perfect timing with everything I described above. Pray for this person to learn quickly and aid Melissa in her duties. She'll be at 10 hours a week until May and then move up to 20 hours.

Retreat
We are working on the Retreat for INSIGHT coming up March 11-13. It will be a good time for community building and challenging them in their worldview on missions and college. Most freshmen in college have anxiety and stress about God's Will and their future. We want to show them they can use the talents God has given them towards the purposes of God. The retreat will be local on our campus and in our homes.

Pasadena Recruiting
I have been working hard on the recruiting front for next year. Primarily I have been planning and inviting people for the INSIGHT Meet & Greet event (what was the Open House in the Fall). This is an opportunity for potential students to check us out without committing to anything. Its a great way for them to connect with staff and students and learn first hand about the program and its benefits. Pray for people to come and that it would produce students for the following years.

Newsletter
You prayed for the newsletter last time. It is complete and sent in the mail and email. It is about how individuals can partake in the ministries of INSIGHT from where they are. Pray people would be motivated to take a step of involved in one of the ways outlined. Pray that people who read it will grow in their vision for ministry and partnership.
Pray also for the next newsletter coming out that will highlight the advances of the INSIGHT National Office described above.

Adoption
The yard sale was amazing. The community here stepped up and really donated a lot of goods for the sale. At the end of the day we made over $800 towards the initial cost of the adoption. Last Monday we walked into our 3rd class (of four) with the big stack of paper work and a check for the adoption. We were paired with a social worker and are going to be moving forward. Our last class is March 23rd. We have to meet with our social worker for a dual interview and then two single interviews. She then comes and inspects our home and gives us a stamp of approval. The next process is being matched with a birth-mother (who will choose us to parent their child.) We will soon be working on a profile that will explain who we are and what our family will be like. Pray for us, our child and the birth-mother through this process. Pray that wthey will know the love of the Lord and see that we will give their child unconditional love and grace.
