Life Change!
There was a new girl in the sophomore Bible study - a roommate of one of the girls that had become a follower of Christ last fall. Rebecca didn’t participate like the other girls though the discussion was lively (it usually is with Duke students), but Grace Anna (one of the Campus Crusade staff women at Duke) thought nothing of it. Grace Anna met Rebecca the next day to get to know her better, and asked her what she thought of the Bible Study. “I liked it, but all of those girls were talking about having a relationship with God. I don’t know anything about that.” Rebecca came to the Bible study because of the life change she saw in her roommate. She knew it was real and she wanted to know more. Rebecca trusted in Christ as her Savior that day.
Several weeks ago Cindy directed our recruiting conference in Atlanta. The weekend gave 165 college juniors and seniors biblical input on decision making, and challenged them to consider vocational Christian ministry. One student who attended wrote the following:
“Recently God has been changing my life goals and this weekend has really helped me clarify them. I’m excited to go home and search the Scriptures, pray, and talk with my parents about the ideas God has given me. Thank you so much for your part in advancing the Kingdom and in my life personally. May the peace of Christ be with you!”
Job Change!
John was recently asked to join the national leadership team of Campus Crusade’s faculty ministry (named Faculty Commons). John accepted the role of Leadership Development Director, and is investing a lot of energy toward restructuring the ministry. The changes involve bringing our faculty ministry staff into teams with our undergraduate ministry staff because our vision includes seeing students help reach faculty and faculty help to reach students. John continues to help lead the MidSouth region of our undergraduate ministry as does Cindy. He’ll move fully out of that role by the end of May (Cindy continues to serve as a field ministry regional director). Please ask God to turn the hearts and minds of unbelieving students and professors to Himself.
And thank you for joining us through praying for and investing in bringing hope and life to students and faculty!
