Dear Church Family and Friends,
In just less than 2 weeks we’ll be celebrating Easter with the rest of the Christian world. There is no event of greater historical or spiritual significance than the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. So, it is most definitely a cause for celebration.
It is also the easiest and best time of the year to invite others to join you in attending church. Many who don’t normally go to any church will go somewhere on Easter, but where? If you invite them to come with you, there’s a greater likelihood they’ll be glad you did. And you can be sure that we will give a clear presentation of the Gospel. Last year about a dozen people indicated on Easter Sunday that they were receiving life in Christ for the first time in their lives.
Easter is also the most crowded Sunday of the year for us. If you remember, last year our 11:00 gathering was literally overflowing. In addition to the 300 in the auditorium we set up chairs in the lobby and had 30 seated out there. With Easter being later this year the crowds will only be larger. And the last thing we ever want to do is turn people away!
So to accommodate everyone who attends we’ll need your help in several ways….
1. We’re adding a 7AM gathering. The idea is for those of us who don’t have small children and/or normally serve in some capacity at 9:00 to attend at this extra early gathering. This will free up needed seating and parking at the 11:00 gathering. If you have small children please do not attend at 7:00! There will be no nursery or Kids church at 7:00.
2. If you normally attend at 11:00, try coming at either 7 or 9:00. Out of town guests (and there will be plenty) typically come at 11:00. It’s what they’re used to doing.
3. More importantly, please come with your invited friends, whenever is best for them.
4. For those of you serving Easter Sunday on your ministry teams, we will be using a satellite parking lot and running our van as a shuttle. We’ll also have extra First Impressions team members in the parking lot to help. You’ll get info about where and when next week. We also will need shuttle drivers before and after the 9:00 and 11:00 gatherings.
I hope you’re joining me in praying for Easter to be a most amazing time this year. Again, there is no greater opportunity to invest in and invite a friend. The extra effort it takes will impact someone’s eternity.
